In this project, our aim is to convert an abandoned Fire Station in into a Care Home.
I have been modeling up this building on REVIT for the past month, drawings on CAD where done by Mr. Julian Boswell(my Boss), it has been altered several times, and decisions are still to be made.
Its not finished yet, but we're getting somewhere.

9. Analysis and preparation of brief
- For this project, the client is aiming to convert an abandoned fire station in Portsmouth, in to a Care Home. It was a difficult project to tackle, as my boss was trying to achieve the client's desired number of rooms, but also trying to mantain an acceptable massing. Creating a pleasing building for the elders out of a fire station was tricky.
I was assigned to analize the site surveys, elevations and sections designed by my Boss, Mr Julian Boswell, and build the model on Revit. This includes, mantaining the correct levels, crating 3D views, elevations, sections, plans, site plans. - I have taken photos when I went in a survey analysis with my Boss, I took photos of the building's interior and exterior + the existing surrounding buildings.
- I have pasted the photos on the PORTFOLIO TAB
10. Cost considerations
- My Boss did not involve me with the prices and budgets.
11. Specifications
- Doors and windows at 2110mm of height from respective floor level
- Materials:Blockwork 130mm thick walls, Brickwork 215mm thick walls, cavity walls 300mm thick, Roof- Zinc.
12. Site Visits
- As I stated above, I have visited the site once and took photos.

PROJECT 8- Hyde Barn Horsam(September/October)
For this projet we are aiming to design a convertion to please our client with a confortable sitting area, including a kitchennete, bathroom and changing room, complete with a luxuorious swimming pool with beatiful views and surrounds in an open site in the rural area of Hyde.
We have come up with many options and solutions, hopping that one of them will please our client and/or from there we can take it foward to completing this challenge.
In my personal opinion, this may be a chalenging task, but it is also very pleasing as we progress very quickly.
